Nature Narratives Book Discussion Group

About The Event

Join us for a NEW book discussion group, hosted by Opacum Land Trust, exploring literature that celebrates the natural world and examines our relationship with the land.

This month, we will discuss BEAVERLAND, How One Weird Rodent Made America. From award-winning local writer Leila Philip, BEAVERLAND is a masterful work of narrative science writing, a book that highlights, through history and contemporary storytelling, how this unusual rodent has played an oversized role in American history and continues to feature in its future.

Read or listen to the book, finish it or not – there are no strict rules to participate – join us for a fun discussion! We’ll meet September 24th from 6-7:30 PM at the Joshua Hyde Library meeting room in Sturbridge, MA to discuss.

The group will be facilitated by Opacum community member, Tim Loftus and Opacum Director of Development and Community Engagement, Amy Adams. RSVP required, group limited to 15 participants.
