Join Opacum Land Trust for a fun and educational workshop at the Hitchcock Academy to discover the amazing diets of owls! We’ll explore the fascinating world of our local owl species, discovering how they hunt with incredible precision and the types of prey they rely on to survive. We’ll dive deeper into owl diets, learning what a pellet is, how it forms, and why we might study them. Each participant will have the chance to dissect their very own owl pellet and investigate its contents. Using an owl pellet dissection guide, you’ll record your findings and gain a closer understanding of what your owl friend had for dinner.
This event is geared towards elementary students. Space is limited, so make sure you sign up soon! We hope to see you there.
