Get Your Free Tree!

A greener world starts right out your window. We need trees more than ever to refresh our outlooks, our air quality and our neighborhoods.
It not only help the environment — it’s helping your environment and that of your family, neighbors and friends. And you can get a shade tree planted where you live at no cost to you!
Owner or Renters Qualify: Here’s How
Opacum Land Trust was formed to protect our local environment and provide natural areas for the public to enjoy. With funds from the U.S. Forest Service and trees provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Opacum Land Trust and its partners will plant 1,000 young trees (6-10 feet high) on private lots (owner-occupied and public properties) and public properties in the urban neighborhoods of Southbridge (see map below).
With watering by participants, the trees will grow into attractive, shade-producing landmarks we all enjoy. Residents living in the eligible area of Southbridge commit to water the trees. We can beautify our homes and neighborhood and help reduce carbon in the air to reduce global warming at the same time. It’s easy to apply on the form below the map.
