What is Opacum?

Opacum Land Trust, Inc. is a regional, all volunteer organization formed in 2000 to protect natural and cultural resources in South Central Massachusetts. These non-renewable resources include:

  • Historic and prehistoric sites
  • Fertile farmland
  • Lush green forests
  • River corridors
  • Wetlands and watersheds
  • Vernal pools
  • Scenic vistas
  • Habitat for endangered animals and plants

Our aim is to protect the New England charm and rural character of our communities, promote proactive conservation, and the creation of greenways and wildlife corridors. Opacum Land Trust is able to permanently protect open space through donation or purchase of land, bargain sales, or by holding a conservation easement.

To accomplish these tasks, your membership and donations are necessary. Please help us reach our conservation goals and become a member today!

What are your land conservation options? Visit our projects page or contact Opacum Land Trust via e-mail or by calling 508-347-9144
