We are thrilled to share that, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and community partners, we’re getting closer to opening the Robert F. and Jeanne R. Para Family Preserve to the public!
This 165-acre property — home to forests, wetlands, and the 30-acre Lebanon Brook Pond — protects the final unprotected acres of critical surface water land along the Cohasse Brook Reservoir, a source of drinking water for Southbridge. It will also give our community a place to hike, bike, kayak, birdwatch, and simply spend more time outdoors.
None of this would be possible without the support of our sponsors. We’re so grateful to the following businesses and individuals for investing in clean water, wildlife habitat, and public access to nature:
Lead Project Sponsor
Hyde/Dexter-Russell Charitable Foundation
Conservation Leader Sponsors ($1,000+)
Conservation Partner Sponsors ($500+)
Conservation Friend Sponsors ($250+)
Thank you for believing in this project and helping us protect this special place for current and future generations.
We’re getting close, but we still have a little further to go. If you or your business would like to join our growing list of sponsors, please reach out to us at Development@OpacumLT.org — every gift moves us closer to opening the preserve to the community.
